Abstract
Citizen insecurity describes the perception of a society in which its inhabitants constantly face the risk of suffering from crimes, which has a negative impact on their thoughts and actions, as well as on the economy and the surrounding environment. An example of this is Ecuador, which has experienced a worrying increase in this problem in recent years, thus affecting the fundamental rights of citizens, where the increase in crime is one of the main factors that contribute to the perception of insecurity, which impacts physical and economic integrity and, above all, encourages violence, thus preventing the enjoyment of a good life, as established by the Magna Carta of Ecuador, where a safe and fair environment is provided, according to the principles of justice. , democracy and sovereignty.
