Abstract

Background: In our country the high number of pregnant adolescents is significant and worrying. In Chone, and in particular in the Santa Fe 2,000 neighborhood, the problem deepens even more, because parents do not feel prepared to talk about sexual issues with their children. Objective: to study the relationship between sexual education and adolescent pregnancy. The methodology used was field and the descriptive and explanatory level. The universe of study consisted of 360 adolescents divided into groups of 12 to 15 years and 16 to 19 years. In addition, an intervention proposal was proposed to reduce early pregnancies and, consequently, school dropouts. The Results when surveying the adolescents the situation of poverty and disorganized households were also evidenced. The Conclusions it was determined that there is a relationship between sexual education and adolescent pregnancy; Because the ignorance of these issues and, not using contraceptive methods, caused that the adolescents became pregnant and dropped out of their studies
