Abstract

The 5G technological evolution has influenced the Internet of Things according to wireless communications with lower latency, compared to existing networks, in addition to the subscriptions that will be carried out until 2025. The relationship between 5G and IoT has determined its application in a Smart home and its study with reference to energy consumption. Therefore, the objective of this research is to learn about 5G technology and its relationship with energy consumption based on the Internet of Things in a Smart home and its applications. These results allow us to determine that 5G and IoT will have a higher energy consumption with around 80% of total power, due to the transmission and reception of a large amount of data. Likewise, methods are presented that allow minimizing energy consumption up to 99% effectiveness
