Abstract

The basis for the preliminary draft of the application of the oral labour system and the principles of speed and procedural economy responds to a doctrinal trend that advocates the establishment of the oral system in judicial proceedings. This trend is advancing and spreading in other countries, to the point that the word judgment is now synonymous with orality. The objective of this research was to prepare a draft law reforming the Labour Code that establishes a single hearing in the oral labor process with the purpose of guaranteeing the principle of speed and procedural economy in Ecuador. Methodologically, the study relies on the quantitative and qualitative approaches, that is, the multifocus, through a field research with descriptive level, as well as on the documentary level. The sample used was fifty individuals related to the branch of law, to whom the survey technique was applied. The most important findings show that the professionals who sponsor oral labor trials would support a reform to the Labor Code that establishes a single hearing and thus implement the principles of speed and procedural economy
