Abstract

The beginning of the neurosurgery in Cuba is reported in the year 1934, by the Dr. Carlos Manuel Ramírez Ran, father of the neurosurgery yours contry. Years later in 1948, you create officially the first neurosurgery service, in the University Hospital Calixto García. Methods: he/she was carried out an exploratory study, an empiric method was used the functional structural documental and theoretical, systemic revision and analysis-synthesis. General objective: to systematize authors that approach historical antecedents of the evolution of the neurosurgery in the attention to the neurotrauma patient. Conclusions: the systematizing that was carried out to the different authors that approached the evolution of the neurosurgery in Cuba in its investigative process, allowed to base from the historical antecedents its relationship in the attention to the neurotrauma patient
