Abstract
At present, the issue of teenage pregnancy is highlighted as a fundamental problem that worries not only underdeveloped countries, but also developed ones, it becomes a socioeconomic issue of interest to governments and the population. In this sense, the research aimed to determine the factors related to early pregnancy in school dropout in the Unified General Baccalaureate of the Santo Domingo de los Colorados Educational Unit, in Ecuador. This work used a quantitative and qualitative (mixed) approach, the design was non-experimental and its level descriptive. The theoretical methods used were historical and logical, analysis and synthesis. As methods of the empirical level, the survey technique was used from the questionnaire, the survey with closed questions to pregnant students and teachers and the semi-structured survey to the rector. The sample consisted of six pregnant students, the rector and eight teachers from the BGU. The existence of early pregnancy and school desertion were confirmed as phenomena that affect the life of this population group. The factors determined were socioeconomic level, dysfunctional families, insufficient training in school on sexuality issues; in addition, the economic factor and insufficient interest in the study.
