Abstract

At the beginning of the post-vaccine stage of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ecuador, one of the sectors hardest hit economically is tourism, given that all social sectors were directly affected in different ways by the collaterals of this global problem. The tourism sector undoubtedly received the equal share. The objective of this research was to provide arguments for accessible tourism as a market segment in times of POST-COVID-19. Studying the arguments of this type of post-pandemic tourism is important because it promotes inclusion, expands economic opportunities and promotes equal access to tourist experiences for people with disabilities, an increasingly relevant aspect in contemporary society. The research was documentary type and relied on the deductive method, examining progress and limitations of accessibility through comparative analysis. Accessibility is a matter of equality and rights and involves advantages in destinations, and makes possible the strengthening of the tourism market and the frequency of trips, resulting in greater emission of expenses with people who do not travel alone, and shows a multiplier effect capable of improving profitability of tourism. It is concluded that accessibility improvements in the tourism chain have scope that represents a business opportunity and that inclusive tourism should open opportunities to a segment made up of a high number of people worldwide
