Diagnóstico preliminar de la factibilidad de creación de un parque acuático recreacional en la ciudad de Manta Feasibility study for the proposal of a recreational water park in the city of Manta

Abstract

Recreational water parks are presented as places of recreation and fun, which are usually visited by numerous people during the weekends/holidays, especially by groups of family or friends, who are looking for another option to spend a pleasant time with their own. This research aims to make a preliminary diagnosis to determine the feasibility of the creation of a recreational water park in the city of Manta, Manabí province, Ecuador, which can contribute to the improvement of the tourism sector and the economic development of the city. From a methodological point of view it was approached as a quantitative work. Diagnosis takes place in four phases: identification of the situation to be studied, design of an investigation plan, collection and processing of data and presentation of preliminary results. It was found that the population of Manta needs recreation and recreation spaces, in more than 70 percent approve the creation of a recreational water park with varied gastronomic services, operating hours every weekend and finally, this type of infrastructure is necessary to strengthen the tourist offer of the Manta
