Abstract
The acceptance and use of the web in education has been relatively fast, taking different forms, among which virtual learning environments stand out. However, sometimes the quality criteria are not applied adequately, based on this problem, the present investigation has been developed, which aimed to determine quality criteria for virtual learning environments established during the 2010-2020 decade. Methodologically, a descriptive research was carried out, with a bibliographic documentary design. The information was collected through documentary sources available on the web, selecting eight articles from indexed journals, as the unit of analysis the topic was considered. As a result, a table was presented with the description of quality criteria established by eight investigations in the decade 2010-2020. As a final consideration, it is highlighted that quality is not a status that is reached to stop looking for it, on the contrary, it implies setting the educational institution on a permanent construction career. It was determined that during this decade emphasis is placed on quality criteria linked to two specific categories related to communicational and didactic processes
