It is necessary to know the participation of states within a variable market and the geopolitical models of practice in the exercise of the functions of the principals. To account for the above, the objective of this research is to investigate the relationship between the State and the market in the framework of a globalized economy, through a bibliographic review of the literature published in databases of available repositories, taking into account the criteria of inclusion and exclusion chosen. It is proposed to apply the Analytical – Synthetic method, with the application of documentary review as a technique and the information repositories issued by Mendeley and Zotero as instruments. Once the search was carried out in the corresponding databases, 26 publications related to the proposed objective were selected. The results show that public administration continues to play a key role in the economy and that the State-globalization dialectic has been presented as a zero-sum game, on the other hand the complexity of the international system that forces states to seek new ways of acting in The economy implies greater challenges that must be resolved based on an effective social policy, with deep social responsibility and compliance with the Law.
